THE BEE STORY

From five colonies to a busy apiary

For years this place was known as de Bijenstal, an apiary and beekeeping museum. When we took over in 2021 only five colonies were left. After a steep learning curve, and plenty of stings, the hives are back to full strength and the honey is flowing.
Over time we want to grow into a regional hub for beekeepers and nature lovers, with a bee-friendly garden full of flowers.

Take the honey home

Spring and summer honey from our own hives, in the café and online.

Before you come

Wear closed shoes and long trousers. We lend you a suit and veil. Allergic to stings? Let us know beforehand and watch from behind the glass. Sessions may move in rain or strong wind.
